In-course Scholarships
In-course scholarships are awarded to students who have excelled in their programs of study. These scholarships may be awarded by the University or by the student's faculty or college and are based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements in certain areas.
In 2008-2009, the University, its faculties and colleges offered over 3900 in-course scholarships totaling over $4.6 million.
Under the University of Toronto Scholars Program, in-course scholarships are awarded to students who have completed the first, second or third year of their program. There are 100 scholarships at each level. These scholarships have a value of $1500 and are tenable with other in-course awards.
Conditions: If in the opinion of the University a student has received adequate recognition in the form of other awards, the value of this scholarship may be reduced or the offer withdrawn. Except where specifically prohibited in the terms of an award, students will normally be permitted to retain multiple awards up to a maximum aggregate value of $15,000.
Payment: Payment of the award is conditional on registration in September at the University of Toronto . Outstanding tuition or other fees will be deducted from the total value of the award. The balance will be mailed at the end of November to your sessional address by the Student Accounts Department, Office of the Comptroller.
