UTAPS Application Procedure for Prospective Students
- Complete an online UTAPS application . UTAPS will provide you with an estimate of potential funding for the upcoming school year.
- If you are applying for admission to a program which admits students directly from high school, you should complete and submit your online UTAPS application beginning in January 2012 and preferably by February 29, 2012 to ensure that you will be considered for need-based admissions awards .
- UTAPS calculates an assessment of your need based on OSAP methodology. Here are some examples for students coming directly from high school who have demonstrated financial need and would be considered for need-based admission awards.
Procedures after you submit an online UTAPS application:

Resident of Ontario
You should submit an online OSAP application in May or as soon as you have accepted your offer of admission.
The University will examine your OSAP assessment of need after you pick up your first loan document and your OSAP Confirmation of Enrolment form is processed. If you have calculated unfunded OSAP need, you will be advised in writing of the specific amount of your UTAPS funding. -
Residents of Other Provinces and Territories
Apply for student assistance from your home province or territory .You will be advised in writing of the specific amount of your UTAPS funding. -
First Nations Students
Apply for funding through your band from the Aboriginal Postsecondary Student Support Program. You will be advised in writing of the specific amount of your UTAPS funding.
Payment of UTAPS grant
UTAPS grants are paid into your fees account. After deduction of fees, the balance remaining will be paid to you by Student Accounts.
